tutu owl

i made this out of more recycled materials. the purple polkadot paper is from a scrapbook package from making memories. the inside of it was plain and too nice to just throw out! and the tulle was recycled from a babystyle gift in which they wrap all their gift boxes with this fantastic green tulle. i loved that store when i was pregnant and when the boys were babies. i just decided to make this owl all fancied up with a tutu. REALLY, where should i start???

last night, i attempted to clean out & clean up the boys' playroom. i got rid of 2 trash bags and i box worth to give away. still working on it...........

brandon & bryan were NOT helping. they kept digging out the things i was trying to get rid of. plus, then they started to play with the things i was organizing. arghhhhhhh!!!!

my attempt is to clear out some stuff so they can open up their new toys---still in the package!! we've been told our playroom looks like a toy store! well, off to try to clean up some more!

used the bottom tray of kirkland water and some time cards i got from work when we were closing the store (they were all going to be thrown out *gasp*). the little twig was found on our walk home from picking up brandon from school. i took it from brybry's bug box but shhhhh, don't tell him!!

eating strawberries here like there's no tomorrow! besides giving the baskets to the boys for their play kitchen, i cut another one up for a card here.

this one was made from a fabric swatch sample from potterybarn kids. i liked the bright graphic design of this swatch.

thanks for looking! we had 2 earthquakes-----one on sunday (4.7) and another one tuesday (4.1). whole lotta shaking going on here!! brandon is quite concerned the 'skaking monster' is mad at something [that's what we call it]. bryan is still too young to really know what's going on when an earthquake hits.

i took brandon to disneyland monday. just a brandon & mommy day! he loves it when his brother isn't around. he said that he is glad bryan wasn't there because, "bryan always spoils everything". we just took our time walking, talking and soaking in the sights.

i love looking at all the landscaping around the park. lots of beautiful flowers!

our trip to SF

we decided to spend mother's day weekend in SF to see our family. of course, brandon had to bring his ultraman collection with us.

my sis gave one of her coworkers, who was going to japan , some moolah to bring back some ultraman goodies for the boys. they got a wash cloth, a new ultraman figure (bryan wouldn't give it up for the picture), a pencil and 3 toothbrushes!

riding MUNI was such a treat!! (that's my sister, AKA ah-mah by the boys) brandon couldn't wait! he was so excited, the people who were on it thought he was crazy probably!

bryan stuck to my sister like glue! thanks unkle matt & ah-mah for letting us stay with you. as always, the boys had fun!

side note, brandon had a "slide accident" at children's playground. as you may have remembered, brandon went on the giant cement slide the last trip we were there with no problems see: http://mamahbabah.xanga.com/673418706/other-uses-for-cardboard/. this time, he got stuck in the middle & didn't know what to do [like get off it]. the next kid, who was like a middle schooler, can barreling down with brandon still on it, clocked brandon in the head & ear. he got scrapped up pretty good (blood & all). he's alright now but i will rethink letting him go on that again! it may have been the brand new cardboard my sis gave him. the last time, we just used a piece that was lying aroung the playground after the other kids were done with it so it had wear in it already.

what brandon made in school

here is my mother's day gift from brandon that he made in preschool. it's a ginormous card and a rapper-style necklace with a picture medallion! (love the mug shot!) he's come a long way from the beginning of the school year. all the kids did painted handprints in the beginning of the year but brandon didn't want to do it was "too messy". it's partly my fault because i keep arts & crafts projects at our house neat so he didn't want anyone painting his palms! but look at that, he had his hand painted not once but 3x!!! i actually LOVE it when he brings home stuff like this! something to treasure forever!

here are the teacher appreciation cards we gave to brandon's 2 teachers. i made brandon write his name on the inside. he is getting better at writing his name and does it fairly quickly. he always runs outta room cause he writes sooo BIG!

happy mother's day

isn't a mother's job just soooooooooooo REWARDING!! the boys fight everyday over toys. poor brandon AGAIN has to be the good big brother and give in.
