pool one day...to the snow the next

last friday after school, i took the boys to the pool to play with their friends. yes, the pool in the winter... in the middle of january! it was probably in the high 70's or low 80's.brybry is like me when i was little. i tagged along ALL THE TIME when my older sister hung out with her friends! [hi sis :) love ya]

so that was friday. saturday, we decided to take a drive to big bear. although it wasn't snowing, it was fun for all of us. the boys don't get to see snow all but 1x a year! and does this even count? it was man-made snow blown out from a snow machine! LOL

this place was better than the place we went to last year. no scary chairlift!! plus i didn't have to hear whiney boys tell me they're tired from walking up snow hills! let me introduce---the "magic carpet". it's a moving escalator that takes to to the top of the hill! genius, right?

ooops--picture is upside down! who has an iPhone 4s?? when my pictures from my phone are uploaded via iCloud, i cannot edit/rotate my photos. apparently, it's not compatible with windows. grrrrr. i managed to fandangle pictures from my phone by emailing them to myself and then editing them from there. does anyone have any other tips for me for editing iPhone 4 pics?

let me tell you having a good, inflated tube with no holes or rips makes for a smoother & faster ride down the hill! see how the blue one is 'puffier' than the yellow?

can you tell brybry was ready to call it a day? he actually wanted to go down one of the smaller hills by himself and he did. at the bottom of the hill, he said, "that.was.AWESOME"!!

fun saturday for us. and we were lucky we didn't choose sunday to go...it rained sunday off & on.

we went here a couple weekends ago, bruxie. it's a gourmet waffle house.

i had the bananas & nutella waffle. YUM!

things that start with S

took bryan last friday to the kiddie pool when brandon was in school. love that no one is there except serious swimmers (swimming laps in the big pool). it was in the high 80's....perfect way to cool off.tried to replicate an old butterfly print you see in vintage books. would love to find an old book with butterflies and just rip the book up and frame the prints. i made the stick pins myself :) all the card needed was a pop of color and that did the trick.

bryan had his 1st soccer game on saturday. so did brandon. we had 1 game at 8:30am and another at 2:45pm. the weather was definitely cooler....felt some big raindrops here & there. when the game ended and as we were walking to the car, LOUD thunder rumbled! i've never seen bryan run so fast to catch up to me! the thunder started to rumble closer in time and we saw lightning. then, all the sudden, it started to pour. i mean, it came down!!! and can you believe----- we got hail!! jaw-breaker sized hail! just the day before, it was in the high 80's. such unusual weather!

this card & little gift below is for a friend. she has received it so i can post my pic now. she LOVES to sew and will change the thread color to match the card she's making! i can't even thread my own sewing machine! it's been out of commission for over a year now! anyways, the jello mold is vintage and so are the spools of thread. some are even on wooden spools marked 19¢! knowing amy, she will use the thread!

TFL! been nursing migraines this past week....think they're heat related. it's been very hot and humid. makes it hard to want to do anything.

needing a vacation

making all these LOs recently of hawaii pictures makes me want to take a vacation some where before school starts again.
here is bryan at the beach right outside our hotel from this past april. the sun was setting but the boys wouldn't leave the beach! you can see brybry is trying his best to not shiver & to give me a smile.these stamps from lawn fawn are the best for these beach/pool layouts! papers are from echo park. perfect match!
we've been going to the pool still once a week. bryan's private swim lessons has gone from 30 minutes to 15---- on a good day. that boy just does not like water on his face!

so brandon has been taking the rest of the lesson time and he is doing wonderfully, learning new strokes and techniques. brandon still goes to his lesson once a week too at a swim school so he is getting in a lot of pool time this summer!

he'll be a 2nd grader soon!

we had nice weather this past week and i mean NICE! took brybry to the kiddie pool tuesday to enjoy the 80*+ weather!these next 2 pictures were taken in the kiddie pool. looks like he's on the beach, doesn't it?

look at my little hugh hefner! i cannot believe how fast he's growing and the stuff he's learning and doing! he will be 4 in seven days!!! i'm not ready for him to turn 4!! can anyone out there stop time for just a bit longer?!
