Welcome to the first ever Lawanscaping Blog Hop ! So glad you’re here! You should have come to me by way of Ruza . This month's theme is Celebrate the Holidays!! The hop runs from Friday, September 9th - Sunday, September 11th! Make sure to comment on all of the blogs because there are LOTS of prizes to be won! Additonal details can be found on the Lawnscaping home page.

4 winners will receive a free Lawn Fawn set of their choice. One will go to a random hop participant (DT members not eligible) and then THREE will go to three random people who comment along the hop! Mold Muse is giving away a $25 gift certificate. There will also be mystery prize packs to another random hop participant and commenter…. Not only will you be inspired, you have lots of chances to win!

Next head on to Donna's blog. If you've gotten off track, don't worry! Head on back to Lawnscaping to see the complete list of designers.

Here is my card. Used Lawn Fawn's heebie jeebies and quinn's ABCs. I heat embossed the web and spiders. Added some glossy accents and stickles. Finished it off with some orange tinsel.

summer is time for fairs

hello! been to your country fair yet? we went over the weekend to the san diego county fair. fairs are what i look forward to in the summer!
i made this card with fairs in mind. the carousel is partly paper pieced. made this for the lawnscaping challenge here. turned the sketch around.we went to the san diego fair saturday. luckily, it wasn't too sunny and it wasn't too hot.

i always love looking at all the fair signs. so colorful! and tempting!

view of the crowd and the ferris wheel waaaay in the background.

i remember in middle & high school, me & my friends would love taking pictures in the photobooths. so fun!

why the grumpy face? not more than a minute of getting there, bryan asked for cotton candy. we told him we will get some at the end of the day and he was not happy. and he sure reminded us throughout the day by saying, "i'm not happy". ahhh, i'm LOVING the 4 year old attitude!

this was the best part about this fair [besides the giant turkey leg]---this marching band. they had colorful coat-tails, silly hats (one had a dead chicken hat). even the tuba was painted like a mouth!

we spent some good money on fair games. to win what? junk! but for a 4 & 6 year old, they are treasures! although......i wouldn't have minded winning this owl here ;)

brandon and his silly self! and look, he won an angry bird!

i can't wait til the OC fair rolls around in july! thanks for stopping by!

a crafting accident

a crafting accident----not me but my 4 year old had a 'crafting' accident of sorts. i took him on a michael's run and sure enough, he can get into some trouble in 10 minutes. he found a ball and of course, what do little boys do with balls? bounce them. i told him to stop bouncing it and to put it back. did he? no. he ran after the bouncing ball down an isle and---- he ran his left side of his head right into a hanging rack that was sticking out. OUCH! luckily, it did not cut his head open, no stitches, no blood. just a real bad scratch. he looks a bit like frankenstein. lesson learned the hard way, right? we'll see.

anyone else have crafting accidents? in college, i took a class called arts & crafts for leisure. yes, that was the actual name of the class and it counted towards credits for my major. so one day, we were carving raw potatoes with an x-acto knife to make stamps. of course i don't need to tell you what happened. i ended up getting stitches at the student healh center. i still have a slight scar on the fleshy part of my thumb (palm side). battle scar! i've heard of ladies sewing their finger!had some time to make some cards these past few days. i've been known to lift up my dish, bowl or cup at restaurants and snag the pretty doily underneath and "upcycle" it! an example of that is shown in the card below! hubby automatically knows now and helps me lift up the dish! LOL

TFL! have a great day......almost friday!
