sometimes, you just have to let go....

......like when your kiddos learn how to ride a bike without their training wheels! the last straw for me was seeing a 3 year old in our neighborhood riding a bike without training wheels. so i told the hubs to take them off brandon & bryan's bikes. he said both at the same time & i said yep! i'm glad i did becuase it took brandon less than 10 minutes and bryan in 15 minutes. my partner to train was brybry and i would let go and he would be ok for  3-4 seconds but i would grab back on cause i was afraid of him falling. so by that time, eddie had already taught brandon so i told him to takeover bryan. and wouldn't you know it, eddie let go of bryan and there he was, riding all by himself. he did fall while trying to stop and he scraped his elbow. but we're so proud he got back on his bike to try again (though he was pretty mad he fell). so moms----- you just sometimes, have to let go.

we took advantage of the great weather last weekend. took a trip to the farmer's market. the boys love going stand to stand & trying new fuits.

yum! we left with a flat of strawberries.

succulents....want to have this in the backyard.

we went out to the great park too over the weekend.
the boys on a (fake) rock play structure
i think my heart skipped a beat when bryan did this! he's such a dare devil. he's the type of boy who jumps off from the 6th step on stairs.
we tried a new cupcake place, casey's cupcakes. when i saw the cupcakes, i thought they were a little on the frou frou side. i must say, i prefer sprinkles over these. i don't care how pretty your cupcakes are, they have to taste good. give me an ugly cupcake that taste good and i'm happy! :)

i'll be taking a break from crafting and blogging. so you may or may not see me in bloggie world. thanks to those who stuck around with me. i've been so tired lately and decided giving up some things in my life is more important. and spending time with my boys is number 1. they're growing up so fast and i don't want to miss a thing. i want to be an awesome mom. ;) i'll be posting random pics now & then.

thanks teacher

this past week has been teacher appreciation week at our school. i made several simple sets to give to the teachers. the card below was a free printable from here. i just added my own punched out apple. fast & easy. i have a teacher who has made a permanent impression on me....her name is mrs. fujiwara. she was my 3rd-4th grade teacher. what i learned in her class are still the best memories i have of elementary school. do you all have a teacher that has made an impact in your life? please share---i'd love to hear!
here is an idea for using up leftover paper: cut them in to strips in varying lengths, fish-tail the ends and stamp a fun sentiment and you have a quick card. i made a couple of these to send to moms i think that are fabulous, for mother's day.
here is bryan dancing to "elvis" at the farmer's market last weekend.
i dragged the boys to the antique market before the farmer's market. these were the "me wants" but were too much moolah. one day....
the boys didn't leave empty handed. i'll show you their treasures & mine on another post. nothing too exciting that i bought but fun finds. thanks for stopping by! have a great weekend and to all the moms out there---happy mother's day!

5 boys for breakfast

what a treat to meet up with a friend from NorCal that i haven't seen in 20 years! we went to the same high school and ran track together back in the days! we met up this morning to have breakfast together before their drive home. it was my 2 boys+his 3 boys. that ='d FUN! the boys got along just great, playing with all their ultraman figures and monsters. (just look at the table covered with all their figures!) thanks for a great breakfast jonathan!! your family is just lovely!we cooled off a little today in the mini pool.
busy making tooth fairy pillows. this one is my 4th one AND i made some moolah! the mom asked for it to be in these colors. this may be my side job! i am finishing up 1 right now for a special girl.

backside to put the tooth in the smaller pocket and a dollar bill or mini toy in the bigger heart pocket.these sunflowers were ginormous! these were at the farmer's market we went to saturday. was going to buy them until i saw a billion ants on the backside. i DO NOT need those in my house!love the summer cropsstopping to smell the flowers except he doesn't know these don't smell!yum!

bryan's mouth was never empty at the farmer's market. fresh fruit samples galore! a tip: you can actually have a light breakfast at a good farmer's market. LOL!

let's get together

summer has started for us...since 6/15 to be exact! we got together with some friends at the small waterpark. here are the kiddos having a lollipop break!
what can be better than to get together with a friend to have a cup of tea [or coffee] while having a yummy cupcake?!the farmer's market is a favorite place of ours to go to on the weekends. what a better way to introduce the boys all the different kids of fruits and veggies but there. all the ones we visit often have lots of samples too so the boys love to try a bit of this & that! meeting another family there is great too......this little notecard would be fun to send to invite them out on a weekend trip to the farmer's market!
here's bryan & daddy last saturday at the farmer's market. notice daddy isn't that happy that brybry keeps eating all his corn!
thanks for stopping by!

and the secret ingredient is....

we had the opportunity to meet mark decascos sunday in sherman oaks. hubby spotted him at a table in the restaurant we were at and the boys kept staring at him because he is a "kamen rider". what a treat for the boys!! he was so nice and took the time to sit down and talk with the boys, pose for pics and even amused brandon & bryan by doing the kamen rider pose.

i also got to take a picture with him :) i barely get to watch iron chef america......since we are always watching things on the DVR like kamen rider, (bakugan, pokemon, fresh beat band).
went to the farmer's market on saturday. so nice to see all the fresh fruits and veggies. love all the colors!

here's what we've been growing in the backyard......radish (from seeds brandon got on his farm field trip a few months back) and beans. not a lot but enough to get the boys interested and excited.

i armed myself with this before.................

going here!! volunteered in brandon's class. bless his teacher for doing this daily!look at his cute drawing of crabs. we have open house tonight to visit his classroom and talk to his teacher.

just hanging outa card i made that i forgot to post. happy birthday to my hubby too! today is his birthday! [this isn't his fru-fru card]

what $10 bought

my "to do" list was added on as the day went due to my ill preparadness and foggy head..... here is the before list as i went out the house:

drop off brandon at school

go drop off a form the dds needs to sign for kindergarten enrollment

go to farmer's market

go home & make a card or 2

go back to pick up brandon

here's what really happened:

dropped off brandon

went to dds office; sat in car digging 'round my purse looking for the form

went all the way back home to get the form

go back to the dds office

headed to the farmer's market but wished i had my camera on this beautiful sunny day

went home to get my camera

went to farmer's market

headed home

finished 2 cards and then realized the time----- i was almost late picking up brandon!!

bryan more interested in digging around the dirt.

our yummy strawberries!

bryan's share....... i had only $10 in cash so here's the breakdown: $6 for strawberries, $1 for 2 pomelos, $3 for a bag of freshly made salted peanuts. money well spent to support local farmers!

also at the farmer's market was this strange looking fruit called atemoya. while watching bryan dig, i was sampling this & that. the sign said that is was a cross between a mango, and something else & something else [i forgot :-( ] it looked like an artichoke. it was weird in texture but tasted good. you can read more about it here: http://www.answers.com/topic/atemoya
