love this picture of my parents at their wedding banquet, hong kong-1968. my dad is so handsome & look at my mom! her makeup was so stylish! i made a scrap page out of this old photo. of course i scanned it and made it sepia tone for that old-age/vintage feel!

funny when i was working on this page, bryan kept on saying that this was "me, brybry" but the little guy who is in this bear suit, brandon, does not believe this is actually him! brandon, in this photo if i remember correctly, is about 3 months old.

happy earth day

in honor of earth day, here are 2 cards. this 1st one here is made from a scrap paper pack that is 70% recycled paper (DCWV green stack). below is the inside.

this card below is made from recycling a panel for the berry basket from the farmer's market. BTW, the strawberries were delicious!

what are you thinking about for earth day? trying to cut back on something? rethinking before you throw out some packaging? i always keep pretty ribbons from gifts, extra buttons that come with new clothes, saving mint tins, reusing that coffee cup sleeve for something. (see: http://ishouldbesleepingbut.blogspot.com/2009/03/oh-dear.html for an example) what do you do to conserve? reuse? repurpose?

hubby is OKAY

for all my family & friends who called me on my cell or left messages at our house, eddie is OKAY!
he had called me at work to let me know there's been a shooting at the hospital and that they are being locked down and couldn't talk and that he'll call me later. i was freaking out at work. he called a little bit later to tell me bad news. the shooter had shot hugo, a pharmacist there. but the shooter was not caught yet. i know hugo. i worked with his wife, jane for a couple years. i would see hugo come in with their daughter to meet for lunch.
eddie told me that the gunman shot another man before turning the gun on himself. all 3 men died in this senseless killing.

i am sorry for not calling back everybody. i know some of you were freaking out when you saw the news on the web or tv with reports that there was a shooting at long beach memorial in the pharmacy. but thankfully, eddie is alright.
we had a restless night. eddie left early this morning to go to work. i couldn't stop thinking of jane and her young daughter & son who will now grow up without a father. makes you think........... give your loved ones hugs and tell them you love them.

happy easter!

good morning & happy easter! sharing some pics of this little project i did (above) and the boys easter pics with the bunny (puppet) at the mall and the egg hunt. it's a gorgeous day here!

my $7 for 3 shots at the mall with my own camera. where's the 3rd shot you ask? not even worth showing.

all the candy treats on the floor at the egg hunt from saturday. we're lucky enough the park is close enough for us to walk to. parking is always horrendous the day of the easter egg hunt.

brandon waiting patiently. eddie took bryan this year since we were supposed to meet brandon's friend (who didn't find us til the end). brandon's area in the 3-4 yr age group. bryan was in the 1-2 yr old area. eddie said he was still freaked out a little when it was time to hunt for treats....last year, he cried. at least he didn't this year.

let's see........... who is the most competitive person here???? THE PARENTS!!!

brandon was being VERY selective about what he picked up using only the thumb and pointer finger to pick up candy EVEN though i told him to pick up as much as he can & whatever he didn't like, he could exchange it for something he liked with mommy & daddy but nooooooooooo, he was being very selective about what he put in his bucket.

when the boys met up again, the 1st thing they did was to check out each other's buckets!

it's going to be a long week

brandon has no school this week.........it'll just be all day fighting with his brother rather than just half the day. on top of that, something has been wrong with our satellite TV box thing-a-ma-bob. eddie has called the DISH & we are expecting to get a new one anyday now. [hope that's today!!] so i have no way to mesmerize them by the magical power of television. j/k..........we still have a ton of DVDs! i have a few things planned for them.

"mommy, i REALLY want a baby sister."

"i am moving to japan! ah-mah (my sister) is taking me there. i don't want a brother anymore....he doesn't share his toys......he takes my toys so I AM MOVING TO JAPAN!!" to tif...... my local crafter friend, this card is for you. really, it's going in the mail (after i write in it) for you. i will get my sprinkles cupcake this weekend! thank you for the sweet birthday gift!

brandon & all the boys at the finish line. he place 4th. mr. orange shorts aka#420 won. but brandon had fun & he DID have that smile on his face all throughout the race! that means he was having FUN! i shot a video but i have to admit, me being the excited mom shot it and then it remained shooting holding the camera in one direction opposite of my head. as soon as brandon passed me & i was cheering him on, i forgot all about shooting the video and didn't catch the finish. oh well, we'll have lots more track meets! [video to come as soon as i load it onto you tube or something]
