whip cream, waterballoons and ice cream

went to go get some giftcards for school staff for end of the year gifts one day with bryan and he somehow sweet-talked the coffee bean people to give him a cup of whip cream. ummm, thanks?!pictures from brandon's end of the year party. they had an ice cream/waterballoon fight party. but no icream cream fight....just to clarify!
look at all those yummy waffle cones! i was supervising the toppings bar armed with a can of whipped cream.

brandon and his ice cream

lucky bryan got to go to the party too. you did NOT want to see what toppings bryan put on his!! no mother wants to see it!!

in action during the waterballoon fight.bryan threw some too!

believe me when i tell you i joined in the fight....afterall, i did fill up 143 balloons!! and i did get my son and some of his classmates wet!! what is that saying........ 'payback is a ______'? j/k of course ;)

brandon with his teacher! was worried 2 1/2 months into the school year when his assigned teacher left for another job. truly blessed and worked out that we got mrs. john! brandon adores her!

ok, onto some cards.

i have a crafty friend in MI who lost her mom and then her father within 6 days! can you even imagine what she is going through? made & sent out this card for her. linking this to lisa spangler's 'make-it + mail-it' challenge here. got the color inspo from the madewell top on her inspiration photo. and tried this water color technique. flower cling was inked w/ an AC stamp marker. then dipped a wet paintbrush and colored it in.

this one will be for my next card class in july. some more of my handmade polymer flowers. and a teeny tiny bit of coloring.my favorite owl stamp. and a lot more coloring here.TFL! we are on summer mode. love waking up at 8:30! but, the boys are constantly fighting!!! fun times!

owl wall hanging

so i turned a card into a wall hanging for my baby niece. hope her mom & dad likes it. i wanted this to be fun & funky! i had fun making the little ribbon flowers on the bottom. girl stuff----so much fun!
happy thanksgiving! any tried & true recipes to share? easy ones that is....ideally the less ingredients the better! oh, and i'd love to have any bean soup recipes too. i have a nice big ham bone waiting to be used! =)

i have a new niece

jadeyn

my sister & brother-in-law had baby jadeyn on 10/27/10. she weighed in at 9 1/2lbs, 22" long!

i made this card for her but thinking i may make this into a wall hanging....perhaps for her room? whadda ya say sis? want this as a wall hanging? LMK.

i hope to meet jadeyn soon & i will be sure to take TON of pics to share! congrats eva & matt! you'll be super parents!

side note, brybry woke me up this morning at 1am, 3am, 4am and 5am. he had a high temp and complained of his tummy hurting. when he got out of bed, he threw up. 3x to be exact. i asked him (for fun) if he wanted a piece of candy cause he did not want to eat anything. he repled, "no, it's just all sugar". that's my good boy! and yes, he really wasn't feeling good to turn down candy!let's hope brandon is not next.

s u c k e r

a little pre valentine's post of some projects. these were meant to have been in the mail but i still have them in my posession. they are addressed & ready to go but..........i was waiting for brandon to write his name in them.
his school valentine's which i made (another post, another time) were passed out to his friends today at his "loved ones" party. the catch on those were each child had to write his own name on them. ALL THIRTY THREE!!! took a time span of 3 days for brandon. a combination of him getting bored, the writing getting messier on each one and ADHD-ness. i'm glad they make the kiddos write their own valentine's. makes it more special.
so if you want, just go ahead and pick the one you like and consider it an e-bloggy vitual card from us!
these were fast and easy to make. cut out card, cut out background paper, cut out strips of paper & punch w/ a border punch, and the fun part--select the chipboard die cuts (from K&Company). easy peasy. a card for a friend. i know she got it already so i am posting it. recycled a coffee cup sleeve by stamping the 'friend to friend' sentiment on it.
card for a baby shower that we went to last weekend. side note: bryan threw up after jumping in the bounce house for a few minutes. luckliy, it was NOT in the bounce house. we decided we may have worn out our welcome after the barfing incident so we left. we heard that bryan started a chain reaction cause 2 other kids threw up--IN the bounce house!for brandon's teacher this year. he picked out a cheesy box of chocolates at the store for her. he couldn't wait to give it to her! so sweet!

just stuff

just some 'stuff' i made that i didn't get a chance to post. it's hard keeping up with my overly-active boys. like my owl prop there? it's actually a vintage owl bank.

a simple & fast card i made for a baby shower.

tutu owl

i made this out of more recycled materials. the purple polkadot paper is from a scrapbook package from making memories. the inside of it was plain and too nice to just throw out! and the tulle was recycled from a babystyle gift in which they wrap all their gift boxes with this fantastic green tulle. i loved that store when i was pregnant and when the boys were babies. i just decided to make this owl all fancied up with a tutu. BTW, what a nice surprise to see this: http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2009/05/28/go-green-challenge-winners/ not a winner but still happy it got a honorable mention! :-)
TFL!!

past projects

paper pieced house
cutting those little butterflies were tedious

valentine's card. tip: for me, i don't have a lot of time to craft being that i work & have 2 non-stop active boys, i cut corners. i use cardstock already decorated & go from there....one less step i don't have to do. this kraft polkadot card was from target w/ a monogram letter. i bought them anyways because i knew i was going to just cover the letter up.

the card below is another valentine's card. love my owl stamp!! i am so bad about posting a project right after i finish it. i wait til i have enough pictures of my projects to download. i have to ask hubby to help me do that part---he keeps them all organized in the folders in my laptop. i am barely computer literate. i am lucky that i am capable i can blog!

had some time to play

i made "mr." owl into a "mrs." owl.

my hand made lolli flowers. i've had a lot of requests for this.

a christmas card. my photography skills suck so you cannot see all the glitter on the snowman.

an altered tea tin & notebook that i made for my SS. she already got it so i could post it.
*****an update on brandon...... he has been acting better and realizes when he gets too rough & outta control. he hasn't been whining about the things we took away from him but then again----it's only been 2 days since the "incident".

hoo loves you?

i stayed up last night to make this little album. made use of the extra hour! my sister would kill me if she really knew what time i actually went to bed so we'll just leave it at, 'i went to bed pretty late'.

i love this new big owl stamp from hero arts. i decided to stamp this owl on chipboard cardboard that gets tossed everyday at my work. 2 come in a pack of our laser printer paper labels. i knew i saved a bunch for a purpose! i stamped the owls, cut them, used my crop-a-dile for the 1st time (i had a fear of using it for the longest time. it had stayed in the pkg from costco for over 4 months!) to punch an eyelet by the ear and strung a book binder ring around it. i decorated it with brandon's birthday pictures. i take him to at a studio every year and the package we get always have these mini pics i dunno what to do with. perfect for this little mini scrapbook. plus i can add every year. fun project!
