s u c k e r

a little pre valentine's post of some projects. these were meant to have been in the mail but i still have them in my posession. they are addressed & ready to go but..........i was waiting for brandon to write his name in them.
his school valentine's which i made (another post, another time) were passed out to his friends today at his "loved ones" party. the catch on those were each child had to write his own name on them. ALL THIRTY THREE!!! took a time span of 3 days for brandon. a combination of him getting bored, the writing getting messier on each one and ADHD-ness. i'm glad they make the kiddos write their own valentine's. makes it more special.
so if you want, just go ahead and pick the one you like and consider it an e-bloggy vitual card from us!
these were fast and easy to make. cut out card, cut out background paper, cut out strips of paper & punch w/ a border punch, and the fun part--select the chipboard die cuts (from K&Company). easy peasy. a card for a friend. i know she got it already so i am posting it. recycled a coffee cup sleeve by stamping the 'friend to friend' sentiment on it.
card for a baby shower that we went to last weekend. side note: bryan threw up after jumping in the bounce house for a few minutes. luckliy, it was NOT in the bounce house. we decided we may have worn out our welcome after the barfing incident so we left. we heard that bryan started a chain reaction cause 2 other kids threw up--IN the bounce house!for brandon's teacher this year. he picked out a cheesy box of chocolates at the store for her. he couldn't wait to give it to her! so sweet!

tree house

just one of my recycling message cards................... sharing some (actually lots) of photos from one of the past weekends we were here. the tree house was finally opened. the boys LOVED it. climbing, exploring & getting wet. here is this running water creek kids can step into with lots of rocks and such. we didn't know that there was going to be water involved in this TREE HOUSE area. brandon didn't even ask, he sorta just sat & started taking off his shoes & socks. when 1 does that, the other is sure to follow!
brandon ready to take off his shirt too

surf moves from branbranpicking up a rock or two

bryan feeling rocks with his tootsies

in this other area, they had musical instruments. see the background? if you tap each pipe of varying heights with your palm, it makes different sounds. very cool!

daddy trying his hand at a tune. and brandon was whacking those like a pinata!
giant adirondack chairs. brandon is hamming it up in the back

we need one of these in our backyard!

the slant makes it hard for the kids to get off!

view of the beautiful treehouse.
going across the netted bridge

checking out the scene
climbing up to the treehouse

this is the kid's garden area of the tree house. it's an edible garden!
ginormous tea cup planter getting a hug from bryan

brandon trying to lift it up!
a little maze. brandon found his way out. bryan in the background running AND cheating. notice how he just (tramples and) cuts through the trail?

tutu owl

i made this out of more recycled materials. the purple polkadot paper is from a scrapbook package from making memories. the inside of it was plain and too nice to just throw out! and the tulle was recycled from a babystyle gift in which they wrap all their gift boxes with this fantastic green tulle. i loved that store when i was pregnant and when the boys were babies. i just decided to make this owl all fancied up with a tutu. BTW, what a nice surprise to see this: http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2009/05/28/go-green-challenge-winners/ not a winner but still happy it got a honorable mention! :-)
TFL!!
