halloween pics and holiday tags

ok, look at this little cutie! this is my niece, jadeyn. we went home to SF to go help celebrate her 1st birthday. she's adorable! more on her party at a later post.we drove home on halloween to get back in time to go trick-or-treating with our friends. brandon is ash from kemon and bryan is pikachu. i made brandon's costume this year ('patting' myself on the back).

we had thor, a witch and sully (from monsters) to treat with.

pikachu hanging with the joker. bryan talked his ear off...

the kids got to pick 10 pieces of candy to keep. the rest were donated back to our school who collected to send to our troops.
side note....bryan one morning wanted to ride in the stroller which has been put away for over a year. he whined and pleaded so i said, "sure, you can ride in the strolled BUT it's going to cost you 10 pieces of candy". he thought about it and came back to me and stated counting out 10 pieces of candy. i was surprised!! (i told him it's a 1 trip deal)
i love fall when i can pull out all my favorite owl decorations.

candle holder that will never see candles.

love this one!

love my tapes

yay! today i am the first featured fan on the Love My Tapes blog!! i recently won some of their double sided adhesive on their blog and i tried it out immediately. LOVED the results! the above card, i used it to adhere everything (except that 'i love my teacher' sticker) including the ribbon. just a little strip is all i needed to hold the ribbon in place on the backside of the top note. (supplies: love my tapes, top note, DCWV, offray, american crafts, sakura, chipboard-unknown)this card above, all is adhered by the double sided adhesive including that handmade flower in the corner. a quickie on how to make that: punch out or cut a circle to your desired size. then i applied the double sided adhesive tape runner to cover the circle. cut out thin strips of paper and just fold and twist. lastly, start circling the twisted strip around the circle pressing down to the adhesive to form your flower. easy right? (supplies: love my tapes, recollections, K&Co., prima, CB, vintage trim, american crafts, brads, manilla tag, CB, crochet string, chipboard-unknown)

it also holds chipboard well. here is my ribbon flower stem. i just ran the tape runner down the rik rac. did it without stretching the ribbon. (supplies: love my tapes, CB, ric rak, studio 18, chipboard-unknown)

here is a repeat of this card that was in the previous post again. i wanted to mention that using the tape runner down the ribbon did not distort it at all. other adhesive tape runners that i've used in the past would always stretch out or warp the ribbon making it look crooked. glue dots are fast and easy but that would show through. (love my tapes, hero arts, imaginisce, american crafts, ribbon, chipboard-unknown)
thanks so much for looking today! be sure to check in on the Love My Tapes blog for more projects and products!
i am always looking for tried & true supplies.....what are your favorites? leave me a comment and i will randomly pick a winner by next wednesday [3/3], midnight to win an assortment of some crafty stash of mine. i have waaaay too much stuff and a lot of it hasn't seen the light of day since purchasing!

a quickie

this year, bryan's invites are simple. we are having it at yogurtland again [his 2nd birthday was there also]. we can never predict weather in january. too cold for the park or it may even rain so better to be safe and have it indoors.
i asked the manager if i could have some spoons and he gave me a bunch and i incorporated them into his invite. i decided to keep it very simple this year by just serving snacks at the party instead of food food. less hassel and less cleanup.
again, these tags came in handy and were perfect for this fast & easy invite. another valentine/friendship card. i did some sewing on it. only my 2nd time sewing on cards and i am getting the hang of it.

this one took me 5 minutes to do. using scraps i already had lying around. again, i sewed on the card
we're off to vegas friday for a quick getaway. meeting my sis & BIL there! the boys will be so happy!! they don't know yet that we are going on a trip and that they'll be there!!
