goodbye summer

bye bye summer!! found some pictures from the summer. although fall is here, we've been having incredibly HOT weather here. we are talking triple digits! hope it will cool down---SOON!
here is brybry from a watermelon tour we went to. nothing beats eating a slice, picked right off the vine!so juicy! best part, after you finish your slice, you can just chuck the rind out over the wagon!

this is from brandon's 1st swim meet. he swam the backstroke. we were just hoping that he was going to finish and to stay in his lane! he did and we're so proud of him! bryan's enjoying a hotdog while waiting around for his brother's event.

TFL! brandon is getting an award in school wednesday. he doesn't know me & eddie will be at the assembly. shhhh..... it's a surprise!

happy friday all! was going through some old pictures and came across this one of bryan. this is one of my favorite pictures! we arrived in hawaii (back in april) and poor brybry was so tired! we hauled him off the plane in his car seat and put him on the smarte carte. he never woke up til the next morning!

this one was already recieved by a friend so i can post now. this one was a fast & easy card. puffy stickers---remember those? love them!a fall-ish card. it's definitely not feeling that way in my neck of the woods! it's going to in the high 80's today & this whole weekend.

made a halloween card with a money pocket. will let the recipiant buy their own treat!

a birthday card usisng die cuts, punched butterflies and a tag for my MIL. easy when you're short on time and when hubby tells you last minute ;)

a good mail day

i don't believe i shared this card here. it's a few months old. lots of patterns here and i think it looks a bit busy. oh well.....we can focus on that almost-perfect bow then!so, last friday was a good mail day. i mean a VERY good mail day! look at what my bloggie friend ivy sent me..... a flower frog so i can stand my cards up like this! what a sweetie!

then, i had a fed-ex box waiting for me on my doorstep from hero arts. i won all this for participating in their OWH (operation write home) bash [picked randomly]. i ended up sending a total of 16 cards. sucha a great company and so generous!

most of you know that i am a cupcake-a-holic! my sister sent this to me! so cute!my order from lawn fawn also arrived in the mail! had to play with it right away! look at how kelly wrapped it all up! here's what i made. i know, a bit early for a christmas card but i couldn't resist!it was just great to get a load of happy mail! no bills that day either =)

hello and TGIF! did i mention i FINALLY got my laptop back from the geek squad at best buys? it was a little over 3 WEEKS!! never again are we taking our stuff there to have fixed or repaired. their lack of customer service, not calling us to tell us what was going on and never answering their phones did us in. not to mention how much we had to pay! bad experience for us with them. BUT, i am happy to have my laptop back. anyways....................

made an accordion flower for the 1st time. i thought these were easy but not so much! you really have to get it 'just right' and to stay flat.


i never got to share my pictures from SF from when we went at the end of august. i was throwing my sister's & BIL's baby shower but a week before the shower, my BIL's father passed away. we postponed the shower but i still wanted to go to see my pregnant sister and my family. plus it was going to be our last trip before school started up. i cannot wait to meet my new niece!!

your kindness is what i'm thankful for

a quick post today. made this fall-ish card. can you see the glossy wings?! and butterfly wings are wet in spots as they emerge from their cocoon.....me & the boys witnessed that firsthand!a few cards i made for OWH . go check that site out. i know we all have tons of handmade cards just sitting around.....find out more about this organization and make use of those handmade cards to brighten up someone's day. i will be digging up some cards in my stash to add to the ones i will be sending.

1st grade

brandon started 1st grade on september 1st. he is loving it so far! this pic is of him on the 1st day.

brybry won't get to start kinder until september 2012! he missed the cutoff by 1 month! poor thing is SO ready for school!

this is on the 2nd day. still all smiles which is a good sign! i was worried that he would be disappointed since many of his kinder classmates ended up in other classes. he only has 3 classmates in his class this year from his kinder class---1 boy & 2 of them girls and 1 of the girls, pushed brandon off the slide last year. [he doesn't like her all that much....i don't blame him.] but there are 2 boys from his pre-school that are in there. i think i was more worried than him. brandon makes friends with everyone!

so i have 6 hrs and 15 mins (i'm still not counting the time) that i have just 1 kiddo. so i get to make some cards.

a card here for a mom friend who just had a baby. she has 2 girls and she waited to find out on her 3rd one. so happy for her!

a belated birthday card. still not in the mail but it's made =)since i had everything out, the design above worked for 2 anniversaries card i needed. again, 1 is late (story of my life) but 1 will be early [or on time]!!

side note here, this morning, the phone rang. i heard caller ID say it was my son's school. 99.99%, it's a pre-recorded message telling us need-to-know-news for the week. NOT this one! i heard it was the nurse so i dove for the phone! brandon threw up at lunch time. she took his temp and has no temperature. so she let me talk to him. i asked if he was jumping while eating and he said no. but that is usually how he ends up upchucking his food. i asked if he was well enough to stay in school or if he wanted me to come get him. he wanted to stay.....good thing. i didn't want to start the school year off on a bad note! AND good thing it wasn't like he got into a fight or sassed an adult! so many things were running through that little head of mine.......we never know with brandon!!

hello! just brought brandon to his 1st day of of 1st grade this morning. i will have 6 hours and 15 minutes with 1 less kiddo. not that i'm counting the minutes or anything!! excuse that teeny tiny picture! more pictures to come later. such a hassel for me to download pics onto my backup computer. i miss my computer!the above picture is a birthday card i made for a friend that she already received. i still owe a person or 2 a birthday card. i'll eventually get to it!
