rubber heaven

never too early to get started on gifts for the upcoming holidays!
i recently got to go to a Stampendous warehouse sale. i found this cute teacher set and scooped it up (along with a bunch of other crafty goodness--see below).

the above is a plain ol' calendar covered and embellished with the stampendous set (worm is from imaginisce).
to the left is an altered composition notebook all prettied up. very easy to make!

for you teachers out there, what DO teachers REALLY like besides giftcards? food? sweets? any ideas would be greatly appreciated. i am thinking these would be useful but IS it really? or just crapola?!

i got to go to the Stampendous warehouse sale this past weekend with a friend. it was a great sale. i was given cash from my hubs (thanks!) and i didn't spend it all!! i came home with $$ which bought [only] 3 drinks from starbucks. the deals were great and the ladies who rang me out were super nice & generous! i won't even tell you how much the stuff i got was total cause i really got all of this for practically NOTHING!

i bought extras of sets so i can give to some of my blogging/crafty friends
:-)

unmounted rubber and wood blocks.

look at all that rubba goodness! oh-- the little things that make me happy!

Holey Cow! That's a lot of rubba. Congrats on the good finds. I miss you in the groups on cafemom, you should come check out the cute critter club and make some cards for the sketches, I just love your owl cards.

And let me know what you find out about what the teachers like cause Jack might be starting preschool next year and I need to start thinking about that stuff.

Oh my! you really scored at the Stampendous sale!
As a former teacher I have to say I loved the home made crafty stuff, they meant the most. I love your calendar and notebook they are really special. I do remember one family that always gifted me with the most beautiful tree ornaments, they are cherished still.
I passed on to you a blog award, check out my blog to see it!

OMG, Ivy! Look at all your goodies, you must be one very happy girl right now! I wish I was there too!!

Love your projects for teacher, they are adorable! I always just get gift card and a hand made card for Bella's teacher, it's easier! :)

Hope you are all doing well!!

I am SO SO jealous of your bargain hunting! Wish I were there with with you getting all that bargain!! I think for teacher's gifts, I do the same as you...I often gift the teachers with home made five-spice roasted almonds, cookies of all sorts and if the teacher is SUPER nice, I also sent along coffee shop gift card or mugs with the goodies. You are a good MAMA! ANYtime I'm in California, I'll let you know :) and I'd love to cook for your family :)thanks for dropping by my blog!

Wow! Three starbucks drinks, that's not bad considering those drinks are expensive, yeah? lol! Loved all your photos! Your friends will love the goodies you send them! Yummy! For teachers gifts, I stick with anything that pampers them, I figure they influence our kids so much that they deserve something soothing, like bubble bath, a cozy little robe, slippers, some lotion, and I always like to slip in a good woman's magazine, like Oprah, Martha Stewart or Living, something like that!

I love your teacher gifts- so thoughtful!! That calendar is fantastic. So fun to check out all of your stamps, too! You made out well!!!!

As a teacher, the most touching gifts were cards with special notes from the student and their parents. A heartfelt thank you goes a long way! As far as material gifts--one of my fav gifts of all time was a starbucks gift card. It's one of those indulgences I never get because it seems so expensive, but with a gift card there is no guilt! :)

BTW- I love your blog! Thanks for your sweet comments on mine! :)
