a crafting accident

a crafting accident----not me but my 4 year old had a 'crafting' accident of sorts. i took him on a michael's run and sure enough, he can get into some trouble in 10 minutes. he found a ball and of course, what do little boys do with balls? bounce them. i told him to stop bouncing it and to put it back. did he? no. he ran after the bouncing ball down an isle and---- he ran his left side of his head right into a hanging rack that was sticking out. OUCH! luckily, it did not cut his head open, no stitches, no blood. just a real bad scratch. he looks a bit like frankenstein. lesson learned the hard way, right? we'll see.

anyone else have crafting accidents? in college, i took a class called arts & crafts for leisure. yes, that was the actual name of the class and it counted towards credits for my major. so one day, we were carving raw potatoes with an x-acto knife to make stamps. of course i don't need to tell you what happened. i ended up getting stitches at the student healh center. i still have a slight scar on the fleshy part of my thumb (palm side). battle scar! i've heard of ladies sewing their finger!had some time to make some cards these past few days. i've been known to lift up my dish, bowl or cup at restaurants and snag the pretty doily underneath and "upcycle" it! an example of that is shown in the card below! hubby automatically knows now and helps me lift up the dish! LOL

TFL! have a great day......almost friday!

Oh dear!! That looks so painful! I hope the little one is feeling a bit better...some ice cream is in the order! Love your sweet creations, Ivy! I adore the use of doily. My DH is like yours, he is now trained to help me lift the doily and scraps of unwanted pattern paper...just in case :)

My poor Brybry!! So now he carries a helmet on your craft trips, right?? Thank goodness it missed his eyes!

Your cards are adorable as ever. Love the paper pieced ellie! And your recycling skills amaze me. I'll be on the lookout for doilies now...

Enjoy the weekend!

Oh no his poor head! Do they sell Bio Oil in the US? http://www.bio-oil.com/uses.html I use that stuff on m y kids and no scars and it heals so fast! I apply it over and over during the day, as much as I can! I also use Vitamin E oil too. Love all your cards today! They never have doilies at my restaurants! Although hubby eats out more than me, I should tell him to pick some up for me! :>

Oh, poor little Brybry, hope he is on the mend now! That looks like a long cut! Love your sweet and colorful cards, they sure make me smile on these gloomy days that we seem to have off and on! The only crafting acci I can think of is when an acrylic block fell off the table and hit the bone of my foot, that hurt pretty bad, no blood, but I'm a little more careful with those blocks now!
