here is a LO from a picture taken last new year's eve. we were all freezing!!

our weekends are spent taking the boys somewhere fun and educational....either a hike at a national park or museums or aquariums. one weeend, we went to the aquarium.

hello, mr. sea turtle! i think it is more educational for us and fun for them!

another weekend, we went to the national history museum to check out their new dinosaur exibit.

interesting fact: rarely on digs do they find the whole dinosaur fossil so they often piece together a skeleton from 3-5 dinosaurs to make a whole skeleton. so it takes years and years and a lot of catologging each bone! gotta appreciate all the hard work!

they boys had fun!

a big hit in our house for the past year---lego mini figures. bryan loves to separate out the body parts. heads, bodies, hair, weapons, acessories. they also hurt a whole lot when you step on lego pieces!

so, this little bad boy learned a lesson the hard way. don't ever try to squeeze through someone while running. that's what he tried to do one night and he didn't make it. he crashed right into a raised stone planter--WITH HIS FACE!!!!! he was crying so loud and hard...i scooped him up right away and carried him to the car. we scolded him all the way home. when we took him out of his car seat once we got home, we asked him where his shoe was and he didn't answer. so we asked him again and he said, "i dunno". we looked all over in the car and figured out, he lost his shoe when he fell. sooooooo, we took the 20 minute car ride BACK to where we were to look for it. we asked him why didn't he tell us sooner that his shoe was missing. and he said, "because you were already mad at me".
didn't look so bad the 1st day. we iced it. he was scraped up a little on his cheek and arm.

starting to get more swollen. this was after our soccer games getting some grub. (anyone know where we were?) the soccer parents probably think we beat our kids.

starting to get swollen as you can see from his right eye.

gettin shades of green, yellow, blue & purple. shall we have a color challenge to honor this bad boy?! LOL i didn't realize it when he first fell but the bruising went all the way alongside the eye socket around the right side of his nose. he is SO lucky he didn't break any bones!

it's finally starting to look better after the 10th day. now, it just looks like dirt on his face. i hope he had learned a real painful lesson from this. but something tells me, boys will be boys!

Aww, poor little guy! Tough lesson, and I love that he didn't tell you about the shoe because you were already mad! Oh, the memories. . .Thanks for a fun and sweet post tonight, Ivy! :)
Wow that turtles huge!!!!!! ;)
What a great layout! And your so lucky to have so many places to visit and check out! I love that you do so much with your boys like I do! :> One time we couldn't find Carter's new croc. We figured we lost it at the park about 40 minutes away, so Chad drove back to find it. Couldn't find it decides to look through the car again and sure enough! :>
Good grief...yup, boys will be boys....
