summer is time for fairs
hello! been to your country fair yet? we went over the weekend to the san diego county fair. fairs are what i look forward to in the summer!
i made this card with fairs in mind. the carousel is partly paper pieced. made this for the lawnscaping challenge here. turned the sketch around.
we went to the san diego fair saturday. luckily, it wasn't too sunny and it wasn't too hot.
i always love looking at all the fair signs. so colorful! and tempting!
view of the crowd and the ferris wheel waaaay in the background.
i remember in middle & high school, me & my friends would love taking pictures in the photobooths. so fun!
why the grumpy face? not more than a minute of getting there, bryan asked for cotton candy. we told him we will get some at the end of the day and he was not happy. and he sure reminded us throughout the day by saying, "i'm not happy". ahhh, i'm LOVING the 4 year old attitude!

next card class featuring lawn fawn
so, i have decided on these 3 cards for my next card class here on july 9th using lawn fawn sets. this first one uses a gluber to make this twisty flower here. set used: sophie's sentiments
i posted this one before but here it is again. added a little polymer flower made by me. sets used here are: on the mend, critters in the 'burbs (to make the clouds), say cheese

whip cream, waterballoons and ice cream
went to go get some giftcards for school staff for end of the year gifts one day with bryan and he somehow sweet-talked the coffee bean people to give him a cup of whip cream. ummm, thanks?!
pictures from brandon's end of the year party. they had an ice cream/waterballoon fight party. but no icream cream fight....just to clarify!
look at all those yummy waffle cones! i was supervising the toppings bar armed with a can of whipped cream.
brandon and his ice cream
lucky bryan got to go to the party too. you did NOT want to see what toppings bryan put on his!! no mother wants to see it!!
in action during the waterballoon fight.
bryan threw some too!
believe me when i tell you i joined in the fight....afterall, i did fill up 143 balloons!! and i did get my son and some of his classmates wet!! what is that saying........ 'payback is a ______'? j/k of course ;)
brandon with his teacher! was worried 2 1/2 months into the school year when his assigned teacher left for another job. truly blessed and worked out that we got mrs. john! brandon adores her!

i have a crafty friend in MI who lost her mom and then her father within 6 days! can you even imagine what she is going through? made & sent out this card for her. linking this to lisa spangler's 'make-it + mail-it' challenge here. got the color inspo from the madewell top on her inspiration photo. and tried this water color technique. flower cling was inked w/ an AC stamp marker. then dipped a wet paintbrush and colored it in.

busy busy
been busy these past few weeks with school winding down and all. our last day is thursday!
this little cutie came to visit us last week! this is my niece jadyen, who is almost 8 months old. she's adorable and i just want to kiss those cheeks all the time!
bryan.....he's been so clumsy lately. he has a new boo boo every other day! i should buy stock in band-aid!
brandon's been having so many activities in his school these last days of school. here are a few pics of his field day. waiting to play musical chairs...
having a good time with his school mates!
getting from one end to the other in his own style!
made this card for a special someone. CAS, sweet and simple.
brandon has been taking swimming lessons for almost 2 years now. here is brandon with his swim teacher, thomas. their pesonalities mesh nicely. they are both silly and clown around. like when i asked if i could get a picture of both of them. thomas held brandon like a baby....i dunno whose idea that was!
this card i made for the front desk manager at his swim place. he is leaving to go to med school so we wanted to send him off with a congrats card.

faces i love to hate!
yes, these darling boys with their cute smiles can be a handful! especially these past few months! fight over the same toys, tattles on each other, eggs the other one on, blames the other for doing something they didn't do. oy---- it's going to be a long summer!! (photo credit belongs to donna)
i just love this picture of bryan! he loves to try on sunglasses in the stores when we are out shopping. sometimes, i wonder too how i can mad at a face like this! [real easy LOL]
