tooth fairy pillow

well, that day has come.....brandon has lost his 1st tooth! here is the tooth fairy pillow i made for him. rather simple and my 1st one. so easy too. i think i overstuffed it though!

heart pockets in the back. smaller one for the tooth and the larger one for $$!i wanted to pull it out before we left for vaca and it was so so loose. brandon was so brave and didn't even cry. he actually pulled it out himself! i was just there for moral support and some hugs & hand holding!
he wanted to make sure i took a pic with him...this was at midnight right after the tooth was pulled (and the bleeding stopped).
i held off showing him his pillow til "it" happened. you should've seen this boy when i handed him his pillow! he was SO happy and so proud. he hugged to to sleep! that's my boy---all growns up! thanks to all my family & friends & bloggie friends who sent me cards and presents! i got some real cool stuff and you all are so thoughtful. thank yous later when i get back!

round 2 blog candy

i haven't been doing anything lately....no motivation and waaaay too tired. sleep is becoming increasingly more important. go figure! these are all cards i made a week or 2 ago. cannot even remember. just too lazy to post too!
looking at the above card now, i think i will add something to it on the vintage dictionary page. maybe a handmade lacy flower on the corner? i'll get to it one day.......
just had to scrap brandon's 1st t-ball game.

i made this PURPLE card for a friend that i found out recently isn't that fond of purple. hmpff---i think i will send it anyways. apparently, there are lots of peeps who don't likey purple! it will just be a surprise as to who will get this eventually.
ok---actually, i know what i have been doing with all my time lately. i finished brandon's tooth fairy pillow. it really only took 1.5 hours to finish but days for me thinking about getting it done! procrastinator....that's me! when he told me his tooth was getting REALLY loose, i had to get moving! he may be going on vaca with 1 less tooth! picture coming soon. yep---too lazy to take a pic of it!
we are going on vaca during his spring break. i am kinda sad we'll be missing the easter egg hunt by our house. we've been going every year since brandon could "hunt" for eggs! this trip is sort of my b-day present too.....excited to just get away. been 2 yrs (?) since out last vaca).
so, as promised, i am having another blog candy giveaway in honor of my birthday (3/28)! i will leave this open til april 10th. i'm guessing we'll be settled back at home by then. just leave a comment on this post to be entered. thanks to you all that visit here, let me share pics of my boys, my crafty things and leave sweet comments! candy will include crafty things and a surprise or 2! if you are new to my blog and not a regular, please LMK where you are from and how you found me!
BTW, my card was showcased here. =) the little things that make my day! (it's the 2nd card shown)

shout outs to brandon, bryan & me [LOL]

lately everytime i look at brandon, he seems to be growing and maturing. 2 weeks ago or so, brandon received a kindness award in school. i was invited to come to their assembly to watch him accept the award. and in true fashion, when his name was announced, he stood up and looked directly at mama! thanks for this great photo brandon! that's all i could've asked for!walking tall & proud----- you go brandon!! his teacher had such nice things to say about him and made me blush!look at his happy face and you can tell he was proud of his award.easy to spot my child right? always hamming it up! let's move on to bryan. a while back, i vowed to get him potty trained before he turned 3. well, it was a tough road to get him to do it but being as anal as i am and persistent, i didn't give up and he finally "got" what potty training was all about. and that was done BEFORE he turned 3. yay! we still had him in pull-ups at nite only but a few weeks ago, bryan asked to sleep in his underwear. now, i wasn't quite ready for that since i would be the one getting up in the middle of the nite to change him and the sheets. BUT he asked and his pull-ups were always dry in the morning. sure enough, he was ready and has been doing an excellent job staying dry!!
thank you costco diapers....it's been real but we are happy we don't need to shell out $45 for each box now! don't you just love watching your little one sleep? so peceful and sweet. look and him with all his animal friends!ok, now on to me =) a mini card i made that made the blog gallery challenge here. great to just have a bunch on hand for some fast thank yous. we have a t-ball game saturday! hope brandon gets a better feel of the game! he did pretty well at practice this week.

springtime just screams cupcakes!! BUT, i love them anytime of the year! and what better than chocolate flavor?!

spring cleaning

hi all! thank you for all the comments in my previous entry! i will be picking my blog candy winner midnight wednesday/early thursday am.

been 'spring' cleaning a bit today. found some more crafty things that hasn't seen the light of day. perhaps i will have another blog candy giveaway end of the month to celebrate my birthday. i found 2 brand new issues of cards magazines that are both dups that i already have. don't ask me how that happened! i will give those out as well. stay tuned!
speaking of cards magazine.....my tweet heart card was one of a bunch of fantabulous cards that was selected for their blog challenge gallery. see it here.

had some time this morning to make [another] baby card. something has GOT to be in the water......this was fast & easy: punch, stamp, cut, tie and sticker. supplies: dritz, hero arts, colorbok, martha stewart, sticko, love my tapes
just a card for a sweet friend who always sends me happy mail weekly! she sent these beautiful butterfly diecuts and demensional stickers. the teeny tiny butterflies made great centers for the flowers. supplies: marcella k, hero arts, making memories, love my tapes

well, i had a busy day. i even made time to do some gardening/weeding. the boys are napping and i am ready for a snack. something i wouldn't dare eat in front of the boys like cookies, chips and ice cream! since they're asleep---i won't have to share!

thanks for stopping by!

love my tapes

yay! today i am the first featured fan on the Love My Tapes blog!! i recently won some of their double sided adhesive on their blog and i tried it out immediately. LOVED the results! the above card, i used it to adhere everything (except that 'i love my teacher' sticker) including the ribbon. just a little strip is all i needed to hold the ribbon in place on the backside of the top note. (supplies: love my tapes, top note, DCWV, offray, american crafts, sakura, chipboard-unknown)this card above, all is adhered by the double sided adhesive including that handmade flower in the corner. a quickie on how to make that: punch out or cut a circle to your desired size. then i applied the double sided adhesive tape runner to cover the circle. cut out thin strips of paper and just fold and twist. lastly, start circling the twisted strip around the circle pressing down to the adhesive to form your flower. easy right? (supplies: love my tapes, recollections, K&Co., prima, CB, vintage trim, american crafts, brads, manilla tag, CB, crochet string, chipboard-unknown)

it also holds chipboard well. here is my ribbon flower stem. i just ran the tape runner down the rik rac. did it without stretching the ribbon. (supplies: love my tapes, CB, ric rak, studio 18, chipboard-unknown)

here is a repeat of this card that was in the previous post again. i wanted to mention that using the tape runner down the ribbon did not distort it at all. other adhesive tape runners that i've used in the past would always stretch out or warp the ribbon making it look crooked. glue dots are fast and easy but that would show through. (love my tapes, hero arts, imaginisce, american crafts, ribbon, chipboard-unknown)
thanks so much for looking today! be sure to check in on the Love My Tapes blog for more projects and products!
i am always looking for tried & true supplies.....what are your favorites? leave me a comment and i will randomly pick a winner by next wednesday [3/3], midnight to win an assortment of some crafty stash of mine. i have waaaay too much stuff and a lot of it hasn't seen the light of day since purchasing!

when i should be sleeping
