"me" time = a card class

i got a little "me" time last saturday and went to nancy's card class. it was a great class and i learned a few new techniques. visit her blog for some of her amazing work.

i think this is my 1st ever sympathy card. i needed it to be plain and clean looking. i made this in less than 5 minutes and since MIL is still here, i have limited access to my supplies and just have all the things i brought with me to that card class still in my bag!

happy friday

things are slowing down a bit for us here now that t-ball is over. we would have 2 games a week (1 on an evening night & another on the weekend) . plus throw in swim lessons wednesday evenings.......... isn't that a sweet picture of the boys (above)?! love when they are so 'brotherly'!!
more pics of brandon's last 2 t-ball games later. coach tim was great and brandon had fun, learned a lot and still needs to learn a little more. we lucked out being on his team---coach tim's wife is a professional photographer and she took some great shots of the boys through out the season.
here's bryan on one of the mornings when we just hang out and do nothing. he's growing up so fast and really having the terrible 3's attitude! i know---hard to believe with his sweet little face.


had some time to squeeze in some crafty time. who doesn't love cupcakes?! really, i don't know anybody who detest this yummy goodness. feel free to LMK your fave cupcake shop & flavor. i love sprinkles and their chocolate marshmallow flavor!

i was requested by 2 mom friends to make tooth fairy pillows for their boys. i made smaller versions of brandon's pillow. i gave it to them last week. good thing too because on wednesday, one of the boys lost his 1st tooth on our way to the playground afterschool. yes, i took brandon, bryan, AND 2 other boys to the playground by myself. [giving myself a pat on the back]

still need to practice...

does anybody need a toothfairy pillow? ;)

there was a donuts with mom day at brandon's school. that's what all the kids needed were sugary donuts in the morning right before class! btw, that is his friend who just lost his tooth.

just another quick card. i had to clean up the guest room/craft room for my MIL who will be staying with us but then she didn't come so i quickly made this. (nancy or tif: can i come over to your place?) then i found out i still have a couple of days before she is here so i started making a huge mess again. there's another project i am currently working on too but i better get my hustle on!

can i ask you all to please stop by these 2 links below? maybe not buy your weekly treat just for this week? i saw her link on a friend's blog who saw it on her friend's blog. i read her story, her background and i immediatley took action. she is a mom of 2 boys, just like me. she is a scrapbooker/crafter, just like me. can you imagine as a crafter, losing your fingers?! i remember when i had stitches on the palm side by my thumb(a craft accident involving a xacto knife & a potato in a class called 'arts & crafts for leisure' in college), i couldn't do too much. and that was just on 1 hand.

my other favorite monkeys

teacher appreciation week was this week. monday, we gave brandon's teacher flowers. tuesday, he wrote her a note of thanks. he wrote the whole thing himself on a card he drew. i was feeling to sick to make one so i made him do it! wednesday, we gave her a giftcard to one of her favorite restaurants. thursday, we donated some school supplies. friday, we gave her a handmade card and included another giftcard. i finally felt better to make her a card along with some others to give to the support staff and principal. we chose yogurtland giftcards to put in there. incidently, yogurtland's giftcards are scratch n' sniff!

monster birthday

quick post today. i've had a migraine since sunday and been doing nothing much. mix that with real bad allergies and i am useless! just feeling better today.

happy spring--happy earth day

just wanted to share something brandon wrote (all on his own) back in march in school. notice how he just says that my mom likes me instead of love! haha

happy earth day....a day late. my earth friendly element in the card above is the grass. it's made from a coffee cup sleeve, cut and fringed, then inked.

mother's day is coming up. what are you all planning on giving to your mom or to the moms in your life? it's always so hard to figure out what to give. i started making my cards earlier this year! the one above is layered 4x. the ones below were fast & easy to make. stamp, cut, stickled, adhere and stapled.

edited: trying something new in blogger to make my pictures bigger. it worked but also cut it off some on the side. i am too lazy to fix them.
