for all my family & friends who called me on my cell or left messages at our house, eddie is OKAY!
he had called me at work to let me know there's been a shooting at the hospital and that they are being locked down and couldn't talk and that he'll call me later. i was freaking out at work. he called a little bit later to tell me bad news. the shooter had shot hugo, a pharmacist there. but the shooter was not caught yet. i know hugo. i worked with his wife, jane for a couple years. i would see hugo come in with their daughter to meet for lunch.
eddie told me that the gunman shot another man before turning the gun on himself. all 3 men died in this senseless killing.

i am sorry for not calling back everybody. i know some of you were freaking out when you saw the news on the web or tv with reports that there was a shooting at long beach memorial in the pharmacy. but thankfully, eddie is alright.
we had a restless night. eddie left early this morning to go to work. i couldn't stop thinking of jane and her young daughter & son who will now grow up without a father. makes you think........... give your loved ones hugs and tell them you love them.

I'll call you when things settle down for you Ivy, I read about this late Thurs. evening...I've been to that hospital before when I was pregnant and also Los Alamitos....I know many docs that work at LBMH from my previous job in the med. field...anyway, glad to hear Eddie is safe!! My heart goes out to the Bustamante family!
that's terrible. i'm glad your husband is okay. you're right, life is short and we should appreciate every day we have with our loved ones.
OMG, this has me in tears, this is terrible, I feel so bad for Hugo and his family and I didn't even know the guy. I am glad your husband is ok.
Oh Ivy...how horrible but I am sooo thankful that your hubby is okay...good grief, what is this world coming to with all this senseless violence?!
I read about the shooting and it didn't connect that Eddie worked there! Extremely relieved to hear Eddie was not harmed! We know the next few weeks will be hard for all of you - we wish you lots of love and strength to get you through this very difficult time! Hugs to all of you!!!!!
